SP Gravity Forms DOCx — turn every form submission into a finished Word document

Use Gravity Forms as the front-end to fill your own Microsoft Word (DOCX) templates with the values of each entry, and get a ready-to-send DOCX (and optionally HTML) file the moment the form is submitted. Every form can hold several independent feeds — one template per feed — so a single form can produce a contract, a confirmation letter and an invoice at once.

Built on the proven phpOffice/phpWord engine (bundled — nothing is fetched from a CDN). Generated files are mapped from your form fields, can be output as merge tags, attached to notification e-mails and downloaded through a secure, access-controlled handler with a per-entry token.

• Always in sync. Regenerates on entry edit (incl. GravityView Edit Entry) and cleans up the files when entries or forms are deleted.
• Translatable. Text domain gravityforms_docx; German translation included, .pot template shipped.

How it works

1. Create a Word template and insert ${placeholder} tags where the form values should go.
2. On your form, add a DOCx feed and upload the template.
3. Map your form fields onto the template placeholders (text and image fields).
4. Choose whether to generate a DOCX, an HTML file, or both.
5. Submit the form — the finished document is generated instantly, linked on the entry, available as merge tags and (optionally) attached to your notifications.

Merge tags

• {gfdocs-docx-url-ID} — secure download URL of the DOCX file.
• {gfdocs-docx-file-ID} — absolute server path of the DOCX file.
• {gfdocs-html-url-ID} — secure download URL of the HTML file.
• {gfdocs-html-file-ID} — absolute server path of the HTML file.

The url tags carry the entry’s download token, so they work in confirmations and notification e-mails even for logged-out recipients.

Smart value handling

• Values are formatted the way Gravity Forms displays them (text, number, date, time, post and pricing fields).
• HTML is stripped down to line breaks; <br> becomes a Word line break.
• Multi-value fields are addressable per value as ${key:0}, ${key:1}, …
